How to help your child be heard – training in Barnstaple and Tavistock

By January 28, 2020 News No Comments

We’re really sorry that due to the growing concerns and impact of COVID-19, following current advice from the Government and NHS England, we have decided to postpone the training taking place in Tavistock on March 18th. We hope to be able to book another date in the summer term.

New DiAS training which focuses on how to gather and share your child’s views in SEND meetings and the difference it can make.

The child or young person’s view should be at the centre of any decisions that are made about their support. If you have a child or young person with special educational needs or a disability, and would like to help your child to express their views in an effective way then this free training is for you.

How to Help Your Child to be Heard uses parent carer experiences to consider:

  • The importance of making sure your child’s opinions and wishes are represented.
  • How to gather their views and use them effectively.
  • What your role is.
  • The difference it can make.

The training includes the many different ways that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities communicate.
