New DIAS information aims to help parents and carers support their children to express their views, and to get those views into the heart of any discussions.
Aimed at supporting both children and young people two new DIAS web pages are full of practical suggestions and ideas to guide you through the process of gathering views and explain why they’re so important. There are suggestions for tools you can use to help you and advice about sharing views in meetings too. There are also some top tips from one of our volunteers and you can download the information as a factsheet too.
Children and young people with special educational needs should be at the heart of any decisions made about their education, and their views are a vital part of making sure they get good support. But finding out what your child is thinking and feeling about school or college can be hard. And sometimes it’s easy for their views to get lost in the decision making and the discussions about support, needs and outcomes. This new information can help you get your child’s voice heard!
